Jungle Habitat is an amazing place and story in time.
Located in West Milford , New Jersey , U. S. A.
This bizarre sort of drive- thru Zoo created by
Warner Brothers was like no other public place ever on earth.
People at random would drive their own vehicles into a wildlife park
by the car or bus load
where lions tigers and bears ran free.
Folks and family's would drive through various compound areas
designated for particular types of predator animals.
You get the idea.
Dangerous!
Sometimes visitors would roll down their car windows and
try to feed these vicious animals getting mauled and once even killed.
Sometimes people would escape near death situations by having their own
car doors closed on them by 700 pound Siberian tigers.
This happening after getting out of their own cars to retrieve
a six pack of beer or sandwiches from their cooler in the trunk.
Missed by inches of being attacked by a wild cat or bear.
Narrow escapes galore witnessed on an hourly basis.
There was no real supervision at Jungle Habitat and many visiting there assumed
because these animals were loose that they were also harmless.
Big mistakes.
No insurance policies at this place available due to the understanding
that everyone enters at their own risk.
Signs were almost everywhere regarding this fact.
Warner Brothers was never in any way responsible for your
health or vehicle during your stay .
I know all of this from experience.
Herding Rhinoceros and Elephants was a department that I
experienced personally / professionally everyday when working there.
I lived in West Milford and entered the wildlife department employed
by Warner Brothers at seventeen years of age .
This theme park employed many of the townships people.
It was always a blessing to me being such an animal lover
that this unusual place opened less than a mile from our childhood home.
Everyday would be a total jungle adventure except that this was all
happening in New Jersey.
Bringing a dozen elephants and eleven rhinos back and forth
from place to place daily on foot by herding them with a stick
was always the most challenging . Never a dull moment.
Each day all the elephants and rhinoceros' were taken by us
from their enormous steel barns .
None were tame .
We then herded them through the woods to another outdoor compound about one half mile away.
At dusk each day we would then herd them all back into their barns for the night.
This was the mission each day. Guide them safely .
Plus bath them and shovel out their barns.
Feeding them all along the way including other health cares.
You would too also fall in love with them once you get past the odors.
All of this going on while maintaining our firm position and motto which was
" Not to ever be trampled or squashed. "
Again, these procedures would take place everyday from dawn until dark.
Many close calls that were life death you may just imagine.
Too many classic animal adventures to mention here now.
Moments in time filled with lots of inspirations .
Tons of cars and other vehicles were rammed and destroyed visiting the park by
these large creatures every year that would be running amuck .
These times were so wild !
A place like this with almost no rules was totally available without any limitations.
All open to the general public. And basically that is the way it was.
Too many beautiful memories of wildlife scenarios to count.
Dreams and fantasies about working with nature became real there .
I am so grateful for these amazing life experiences.
Being a part of Warner Brothers Jungle Habitat wildlife
department was one of my personal highlights and joys thus far in this thankful life .
My own musical compositions . accomplishments and creativity today is reflected from those times.
I can always go back into the memory banks recalling the serenity encountered at that period gaining much inspiration.
I am thankful for all the divine gifts from God above.
Jungle Habitat stories are a big part of my life.
Besides the terror filled animal attacks it was a most beautiful unique place.

The purpose of writing from this perspective about this certain place
is to share the times and events while giving captivating delightful experiences to others.
Expressions heavily stating the importance in dwelling together
at one alongside with nature whenever possible .
That is what this indescribable feeling is all about to me when remembering those times and that places .
